Spring 2021

The Spring 2021 issue of Fossil News: The Journal of Avocational Paleontology is now available:

The cover of the Spring 2021 issue features the paleoart of Esther van Hulsen. In the accompanying “in process” article, van Hulsen describes bringing Otodus megalodon to life. A 16-page special section, “Trying Hard to See Mary Anning,” includes commentary on the semi-biographical 2020 film, Ammonite; excerpts from Tracy Chevalier’s novel Remarkable Creatures; and an 1859 sketch by Henry Rowland Brown, whose travel memoir, The Beauties of Lyme Regis, included one of the first biographies of Anning. We also take a trip back to the Sharktooth Hill of the 1960s, then a widely publicized tourist destination for Southern California travelers.
